Skills Development- Writing Articles

Introduction

For my enterprise, Insert Magazine, I had to write various articles on the topics I chose. These were on Book Reviews, Game Reviews, Movie Reviews and The Local Area. The longest article I wrote for the magazine was Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe and Deadpool Killustrated. This was due to the fact it was in two parts, and I wrote about both of them in detail.

Deadpool Kills The Marvel Universe and Deadpool Killustrated

I spent the longest on this article. As I was writing it, I found out that I was not clear on whether something I was writing was factual or what I really thought of it and so I decided to reread the stories in the comic book. I wrote about whether I agreed with a plot point, what I liked and disliked about it and about a tiny bit of realism in the comic. I enjoyed writing this article, despite the distractions,  and I tried to make my article interesting to read. On the next book review, however, I will go more into the relatable and more realistic side of the story, such as depictions of mental health, as I decided to do this but added it in as a side thought at the end.  

Shopping During Covid-19

I originally thought of this idea as the Important Topic article, but decided it would fit more with The Local Area segment. I wrote about multiple experiences shopping during the lock-down, and my opinions on it. I felt the article was too boring as |I was writing it, so decided to add in some tips. If I were to write this next time, I may research online for some guidance on how to make this kind of story telling more intriguing. I believe writing multiple articles will help develop my writing skills as practising my writing style and putting words to paper will help more than doing nothing.

Spider-Man PS4

This article may be the shortest, but it was the most fun to write. I had a lot of different things to talk about for this article, where other articles lacked much change. To develop this kind of article in the future, I may research more gaming terminology and points to use, and this will hopefully increase the size of the article. 

The Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 2

This was the last article I wrote and I did not put much thought in it. I did search for pointers to help me write it from the internet, and used this website for help.

With the help from the website, I was able to generate a in depth article on the movie. I did not write about casting and camera angles, which would have been interesting to add, as I did not know much about these points. The website helped me develop a better understanding of movie reviews and its content which helped me develop my reviews writing more than just writing the article alone.
