Skills Development- Short Stories Collection

Writing a short story

I had an idea for a short story for a while that related to my theme. I decided on a comedy that utilised a power that many people would not wish to get. The protagonist, a young male in America, finds himself in a dangerous, ish, situation and his only means of stopping the antagonist is with his power of curing hiccups. Yes hiccups.

Collecting Stories

As suggested by my teacher, I wrote an email to send out for short stories. I sent it to her to send to the correct person in the English Department, but despite this it proved no results. The email is good for future emails of the same nature.
(I believe it did not get sent out because the email I used was unknown and created for the magazine.)

With this proving no results, I asked those I knew. They were up for the task and to make it more professional, I sent them a written consent form to sign.

The written consent form was as followed:

I created the consent form by using online consent forms of the same nature and tried to make it look professional. If the business gets more developed, this will be edited to suit the bigger submissions.

Feedback for stories

I wrote feedback underneath each story for the writers. This will be published alongside their stories. By keeping my business values in mind, I kept the feedback critical but not harsh. I remember a teacher told me of the sandwich method, a positive then a negative then another positive, and I used that to not sound harsh. I mostly had good things to write about.
