26th February 2020
On Wednesday 26th of February I went to the St George's Theatre with two of my classmates. We are responsible for promoting the upcoming orchestral event at the Great Yarmouth Minster on the 9th of July. The day started with a meeting with our organiser and someone from the St George's Theatre about the marketing we would have to do for the event. We discussed ways to market the event, including leaflets and social media, and one of my classmates was introduced to a photographer that will mentor her. We also went through various projects, and put a team head for each one. I became in charge of the interview questions we will use for the 4th March event and the press release. Overall, the day proved to be fun and I found enthusiasm for marketing this event. The day made me, for the first time, look forward to the work experience I will be doing with Create Yarmouth and my other work experiences. On the day we took a photo of us and our organiser uploaded it to the Creative Collisions Twitter page.

4th March 2020
Wednesday, 4th March was an inspirational concert for the Creative Academy Trust schools who will be involved in the project. We had to interview the brilliant people behind this event and the one in July and work with East Coast College to film their documentary for the event. We worked well, but I had to step out of two interviews as I couldn't stop coughing and would have ruined the film. I was in charge of interview questions and was able to write half of them with the help of someone working with the organiser of my work experience. She told me which ones were good and usable, and gave me confidence that some of the ones I did were actually good. I listened to the music and found it very relaxing and exciting and thought about using those words for the Social Media posts. On the day we created a social media post for the event, with images of us working with it. I left when the questions were finished and missed the concert later as I wasn't up for staying out late when it is dark. The social media post was added to the Creative Collisions Twitter page.

Press and Media Release- 4th March to 13th March 2020
One of the tasks I had to do was write a press release about the event. This was an after event press release which may have been given to newspapers and published. I used the before the event press release as an inspiration and copied some of the topics inside it and some of the wording. This press release had quotes from the whole team, including my own, and included my own thoughts about the event. I had to email the release to the person who organised my work experience and she edited to make it read better.
A paragraph from the press release:
"Another student part of this team, Hollie Braithwaite, had said “I think the project is very good to practice professional skills, especially in writing, the facilitators really helped me with my confidence. Practical writing is very good for developing my writing skills, which are needed for my dream career. The music during the rehearsal was relaxing and exciting all at once, I would definitely go to more orchestral concerts in the future.”"
The person in charge of my work experience edited the paragraph so as to make it obvious that I wrote the press release. Which made the flow of the release and the wording much better as I had three quotes to put in.
The edited version:
"For my own part, I think the project is very good to practice professional skills, especially in writing, the facilitators really helped me with my confidence. Practical writing is very good for developing my writing skills, which are needed for my dream career. The music during the rehearsal was relaxing and exciting all at once, I would definitely go to more orchestral concerts in the future."
COVID-19 Problems
As the virus became a pandemic, we couldn't do any more field work for the event. The organiser said in her email that she will keep the work experience going, so we can have more experience. She sent her edited version of my press release and asked my teammates about them making a flyer for the event. She also asked the teammate in charge of the photography for her photos of the event to use with the press release.
I have not got any new emails as of yet for more work, and hopefully the lock-down will be over and the event can still take place though this is highly unlikely.
