Images used on a professional portfolio, or professional
images in general, are smart with bright lighting. The lighting can be natural, for example, from a window or artificial. Majority of the head-shots from Google use artificial lighting, possibly because it is much easier. On google images, the people in pictures are wearing smart clothing,
and sometimes posing on their side. They are also cheerful and smiling, a positive contrast to photos needed
for identification documents, such has the driving licence and passport.

Images used on the portfolios I have
researched, are creative and unique. They show exactly what the person is known
for. For example, Danny Cooke has a camera in his photo and Lucy Lettersmith is
on her laptop. The lighting in both is
bright just like the images searched on Google, and Danny is also smiling.

My Head-shots
For my head-shots, we used artificial lighting, just like most
head-shots from Google, and a black background. This gave the image a more
professional look. They were done like this because photographers in my class
suggested it, and I accepted their more informed decision. My favourite head-shot
is the one closer up to my face, as it looks so much better.
These two were too far away from my face for
my liking.
My favourite is much closer.
I do regret the black clothing I wore, but it isn’t a bad photo. I prefer this kind of photo, from my shoulders up.
